Within the setting of one of the most relevant production regions in the world, the RTRS Meeting Point 2023 is an invitation for all the players in the soybean and corn value chain to get closer to the ground, and to get to know first hand the valuable work of producers, while achieving a holistic perspective of the entire supply chain.
In this context, the RTRS Annual International Conference will address relevant issues of the sector’s agenda, all the way from legislation to implementation across the responsible soy value chain.
The proposal panels involve dialogue and discussion on the importance of regional legislation, such as the European Union regulation on deforestation-free products (EUDR), as well as national legislation in producing countries. At the same time, we propose exploring the different paths that the supply chain currently plans to adopt to comply with legislation. Furthermore, we will reflect on what is crucial for sustainability besides deforestation and what added value tools such as RTRS certification brings. In addition, we will open a space to deepen how the animal feed sector, including aquaculture, is preparing to ensure the sustainable soybean supply that the industry requires.
Furthermore, along our tour, we will get acquainted with China's point of view in relation to the fight against climate change, food security, biodiversity and deforestation and the sustainable solutions it adopts in this regard around the international debate.
